When we get back he shows me other stuff from the site. Lots of old Cavalry stuff. This is a pre-civil war fort that was abandoned around 1853. Dragoon buttons of two different sizes seem to be his most prized items from there. Well the piece of clay pipe that we found, well it fits perfectly with the other pieces he has found there before!! I hope to get a photo of his collection in the future for this web site. Enchiladas are delicious and the company is Fantastic! Nice to see old friends again. Good byes are always difficult but I have lots to do before I leave tomorrow afternoon back to Phoenix.

Family and friends know my affinity for pinons so just about everyone has a baggie of them to give me. I hit the road to Phoenix at around 4:00 p.m. on wednesday.
Stop on the way back to Arizona at the border again. Take photos of both signs...The Welcome to New Mexico sign is better looking than the Arizona one. heh heh!

Morning comes way too soon and I tell my Uncle I slept hard. I didn't even hear my cousins come in for breakfast. He tells me I must have been sleeping hard because it sounded like a pack of frogs up in the room I was sleeping in. ha ha ha, I think he's been talking to rc.
North To Alaska I leave for Alaska this evening so I have to get this dang dredge all packed up and then to Alaska Airlines Cargo. Uncle Bill disappears and leaves me with his van to do whatever I need to. I see the mailman and ask him where I can find a furniture store nearby. He tells me and off I go to get a supply of cardboard boxes. I buy some duct tape and I'm in business. What a chore!!! I bust my butt all day long making boxes for the dredge parts and stop long enough during lunch to go to Dairy Queen around the corner!!! Send shar's cactus from a mailbox outlet. Things are really moving now. Glad I don't work as a mover. This is REAL work!! My uncle comes home makes me red enchiladas for dinner and is worried about making it to the airport. I try to act like everything is under control so he won't get excited. I take a shower, eat my enchilada and off we go! I can't believe it's time to leave already. Amazing how quickly the time flies. Catch the plane at 6:30 and get back to Fairbanks at 1:15 a.m. Friday Morning. Time to sleep because I have to be at work in 7 hours!
The whole adventure seems like a dream. I have a few trinkets and photos to prove it really happened and the dredge will be here soon too. But the lasting treasure of the trip are all the memories of all the crazy things that happened and the good fun we had. A big Thank You to my good friends that made the effort to get together while I was in Arizona. Bob~O and Laura for making the trek and Susan for making it all come together so well. Thanks for a NEW friend as well, Arizonac.
THE END! Until the next get together! heh heh
