The Northern Alaska Spatial Data Users Group (NASDUG) is a user group based in Fairbanks, Alaska. Users share a common interest in spatial data, GIS, and remote sensing. NASDUG is currently co-chaired by Patrick Cotter (PDC Engineering) and Cindy Hamfler (BLM). Meetings are held about once a month during the non-field-season period of the year.
Please keep your postings on the topic of spatial data. Postings should be of general interest. Reply directly to the poster (rather than the entire list) to work through details. If a general interest solution is reached, please summarize and post it to the entire list.
Please do not post large attachments. Plain text in the message body is best.
Please take care and review your message carefully prior to posting. Be considerate of the many list readers--multiple resends are strongly discouraged. For events, an announcement in advance followed by a reminder just prior is OK.
If you perceive a delay in posting, check the archive. If you suspect a problem, contact the list administrator or crc@gi.alaska.edu. Note that you must post from the email address under which you are subscribed to the list. E.g., if you are subscribed as john@abc.com and post from your johnny@xyz.net account, your message won't be distributed.
Job postings for Alaska positions are allowed. Please provide a link to the listing at your employer's HR site.
Training announcements are encouraged. For introductory level courses (e.g. ArcGIS I), please limit to those classes being taught near Fairbanks. For high-level or very specific topic classes (e.g. SAR data processing), announcements for classes anywhere in Alaska are welcome.
If you have doubts about the appropriateness of your posting or would like postings done on your behalf, please contact Tom Heinrichs.
For additional information, please contact Pat (PatrickCotter at PDCENG.US) or Cindy (Cindy_Hamfler at blm.gov). Questions regarding this listserv can be addressed to Tom (tom.heinrichs at alaska.edu).
